A community exists around your business (and life) regardless of whether you nurture it or even know about it. If you want your business to be stable and poised to grow, it is essential that you make an effort to build a strong community around your brand.
How Health and Fitness Impact Webolutions’ Community Brand
A component of our community brand at Webolutions is health and fitness. Anyone can join us for group outdoor activities such as trail running, hiking, biking or climbing a 14er. There is no pressure to participate in a specific event, no dues, no meetings, no sales. Simply, it’s a standing invitation for an opportunity to join us for a weekend jaunt in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with other business owners and community leaders in a more casual setting than offices or restaurants. Many in our community compete in local charitable races together as a team. We have a team racing shirt, and we’d like you to have one.
Why do we do this? We care about the health and fitness of our employees and our clients. We want our clients to be a part of our community for a very long time. And, yes, we do it because it’s fun, but the most important reason is that we care about the communities where we live and work. We know that by inspiring others to be active and healthier, they’ll be strong enough to care about the multitude of worthy causes that we can support more effectively as a team.
Community Lessons Learned through Fitbit
As part of our encouragement to be healthy, each Webolutions employee was given a Fitbit to support our efforts to get and stay healthy. Millions have been sold across the U.S. What you may not know is that Fitbit has a really healthy community of advocates. Sure you might see that Fitbit has more than 700,000 likes on Facebook, but what you can’t see are the millions of weekly conversations that occur because of the social community that surrounds the device. Am I loyal to a $100 step counter or I’m a loyal to dozens of friends who use the same counter to encourage and support each other? Am I ready to switch over to the newest competitor? Of course not; my friends and my community use Fitbit. Part of my loyalty is that I’ve seen hundreds of conversations over the last year, and the company treats its customers well. Malfunction or manufacturing flaw—you’ll get a new one shipped to you. Lose it— you’ll go buy another one as fast as you can afford it. If you build a community around your brand, your community will keep you healthy. If it works for professionals and it works for a $100 step counter, a community can also help you.
Sure, you MIGHT still need to advertise and engage in all the traditional marketing and sales activities to build your business. If you build a healthy community around your business that is authentic and engaged, your clients will become a critical way to build your business. You’ll engage much less in the constant expense and time of sales, advertising and marketing and more in caring about the people that you’re doing business with. We invite you to build a community with us!
How to Use this Information
At Webolutions, we specialize in communicating effectively with your community and those that should be in it. Much of it is common sense, yet seems to escape the multitude of businesses that we interact with daily. What do you really care about? Who do you want to help with your product or service? How will your business improve the professional and personal lives of your client or customers? Why do you pour your heart and soul into your business? We utilize every new technology created, but understand that part of our success is because we care for our community and receive their loyalty in return. When you consistently interact in a way that shows you are listening and that you have your clients’ best interests at heart, trust and a sense of belonging results. It creates a team, a community and a culture.
When you are loyal to your customers, they are loyal to you. It is a relationship.
We’re ready to help you build that community, because we believe in making a positive difference in the world and each other’s lives. Please give us a call at 303-300-3640 or contact us online to begin the conversation.
